Back in Madrid after 10 years in Bristol
Moving to Spain involved a drive South West from Bristol to Plymouth to Sail to northern Spain to Santander.
The Brittany Ferry is more like a cruise rather than a ferry trip. Leaving Plymouth at about 5pm arriving in Santander at 12 noon the following day. Cabaret entertainment, a number of restaurants, swimming pooling and a number of bars. Travellers ranging to people wintering in their summer second homes, lorry drivers and booze cruisers and the occasional emigrant.
There is something straightforward in travelling abroad in a long distance ferry. You simply turn up (with your ticket of course) board find your cabin and let the boat do the rest.
Arrival in Santander. Following the “Cruise” One returns one’s vehicle and simply drives into a different country. Leaving the rest the fellow passengers head south for the beaches of the Mediterranean the foothills of the Pyrenees.
