Leaving the comfort of Britain’s hipster capital, it was time for Bristol Spanish Intercambio to see what is going on in the real England. Walking from Cam & Dursley to the Slimbridge Wetland Centre. Using 1:25000 Ordnance Survey Maps to plan our route we made some interesting discoveries on the way.
Our footpath took across an old school level crossing. Which makes for some excitement. Due to health and safety these crossings are being replaced by bridges and underpasses. Thus removing another bit edginess from life.
Pressing on we walked under the M5 via an underpass sampling the harvest
The corn was high in the fields and tempting.
The landscape approaching the Wetland Centre is flat cut by streams flowing into the Severn.
Makes for easy walking and still interesting.
